The Experience
Warm and toasty, therapeutic, reduces stress and promotes relaxation, stress simply drifts away. Soft interior lighting, L- shaped benches that allow bathers to enjoy good conversation, all promote the authentically relaxing experience that is tradition in the Scandinavian style sauna experience. You need your sense of adventure and expect raw nature, weather, cold & hot temps, and bare ground on your way to entering and enjoying the sauna. The Sauna can accommodate up to four adults and is perfect for individuals, couples, or a group of friends. It is most common to have two or three rounds of approximately 15 minutes in the sauna, cooling off between rounds with a cold shower or relaxing in the changing area or sitting area outside. Drink plenty of water to stay refreshed. Benefits of mixing cold exposure with heat exposure include improved blood circulation, expedited muscle recovery, reduced inflammation, hypertension, and arthritic symptoms. Guests may change in the Sauna or main changing rooms and shower in the shower cubicle adjacent to the changing rooms. What to wear? Going naked in the sauna is hygienic and probably the best choice of all. There is no other way to get the ultimate enjoyment and feel all the benefits of sweating. The best of all, if you enter the sauna naked, you don’t need to worry about what to wear. The answer is simple – nothing! Unfortunately, most of us hesitate about this unconventional approach. If you are one of those people who feel uncomfortable wearing nothing, you have a few options available. All in all, the only thing that matters is to get the best that the sauna offers.
The Sauna
“Delight” Wooden Barrel Style Sauna suitable for up to four adults with an adjacent cold shower to help cycle hot and cold therapies. The shower water is drawn from our onsite underground stream water bore. Enter through the sitting/changing/cool down room into the Sauna room which is heated by a Harvia Spirit electric open stone heater. If preferred during your sauna you can cool down and relax at the outdoor sitting area adjacent to the sauna. The Sauna temperature is usually between 70-80 degrees Celsius. Whether you’re naked or not, it’s never appropriate to sit directly on the bench’s. We provide two towels per person, one to use to sit on while in the sauna and one for showering. We suggest removing any jewelry as this can get very hot and burn your skin. We provide plastic glasses for inside sauna as glass gets to hot to handle. No glass or food inside the sauna. Please respect the peace of others by using hushed voices.
Please only use water supplied in the bucket for pouring over rocks to produce steam. Any other water/liquid type may cause stones to explode.
Sauna may be booked by itself or in conjunction with a Hot Pool at time of Hot Pool booking. Your combined booking is for two hours. Sauna only booking is for 90 minutes. (Please note for combined bookings you need to walk between sauna and hot pools)
Booking is for two persons, $160 for a 90 minute session per booking. includes one complimentary bottle of River Rock Estate wine of your choice, tasty cheese and cracker snacks, chocolates, bottle water. Towels and robes provided. No BYO alcohol or food. Adults only R18. Guests are welcome to use the main changing rooms and hot shower located in the Hot Pools area. All guests are required to shower before entering the sauna.

It is recommended to bring appropriate foot wear (Jandals/Scuffs/Sandals) to walk on gravel and stones from entrance area to the sauna.
